An MID loaded with Android : an offering by Eston

Another company that is going the Android way is Eston. The company is planning to launch an Android powered MID very soon. This device will be named MID-02 slider, and will be available with French carrier SFR.

The device runs on Intel Atom Z500 at 800 MHz, 512 MB RAM, 4GB of SSD storage, a 4.3″ touchscreen and a slide out QWERTY keyboard. There are no details available regarding the release date or the pricing of the device.

Android provides one of the best browsing experiences to its users. So, when Android is coupled with an MID, it would not be wrong if we expect it to be one of the best MIDs in the market.

Sony Ericsson planning to launch an Android smartbook this year?

Sony Ericsson is planning to enter the smartbook arena. But, the most surprising fact (or should I say, rumor) is that it will be an Android powered device. According to the guys at GadgetMix.com, some Taiwanese source suggests that Sony Ericsson is working on a smartbook to be released by the end of this year. No details about the device were available, but it is speculated that the the device “will use ARM processors to run some mobile OS, possibly Android.”.

This news is nothing more than a rumor as of now. But, it remains to be seen, how far this device will be acceptable in the market. Sony Ericsson is generally famous for its high prices. Will that be the case with this device too ?

A clearer and closer view of Motorola Morrison

Remember the Motorola Morrison, the first Android-powered toy by the company ? A few days back, there rumors about the device in the making. But, there were no other details about the device. Now, the specs and the speculated release date have been leaked.

The device would come loaded with the following features :

  • Qualcomm 528 MHz CPU
  • 256 MB of RAM
  • 512 MB flash memory
  • microSDHC support (32GB)
  • 320×480 HVGA display
  • accelerometer
  • magnetometer
  • proximity sensor
  • ambient light sensor
  • 5 MP camera with autofocus
  • Geotagging
  • Also, GPS, 3G support, and wi-fi

This device was supposed to be an entry-level phone. And, the specs seem quite decent for a low-budget device. But, the looks of the device does not go with the image of a business-class device. So, this device would probably target the youth. And, the speculated release date of the device is October 21.
