Google Goggles Gets Updated

| September 15, 2011 | 0 Comments

Google Goggles — an application that allows to search the web with the help of pics — is now getting a new update. The newest 1.6 version of it will bring in several improvements for Android handsets’ cameras. This is one of the major updates of the application after the personal data was added.

The new version of the application will make the camera integration with the web much better. So from now on it will allow to automatically scan all of the shots taken by the camera application of the handset. How does it work? While the scanning process is continued in the background, the users will get various notifications every time a landmark, a painting or an object is identified.

By the way, you always have a chance to share the acquired information with your friends. You just need to head to the Goggles application and share your search history.

The application is available for all Android handsets running Android 2.1 and higher, and it’s obvious that you don’t have to pay for it as the developer apps are always free of charge. So all you need to do is to get the newest version of the application from Android Market or update the current version of Google Goggles on your smartphone — go Settings -> Search for Camera — and that’s it.
