Skype for Android has received an update to version 22.214.171.124 and now it’s compatible with 14 more Android devices including the Sony Ericsson Xperia Live with Walkman, the Sony Ericsson Xperia neo V, the HTC Nexus One, the HTC Shooter, the LG Optimus Black, the LG Optimus 3D, the LG Optimus 2x, the Motorola Photon, the Motorola Droid 3, the Motorola Bionic, the Motorola Atrix, the Motorola Xoom, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the Acer Iconia. None of the handsets is new, but all of them couldn’t connect to Skype.
Except for the additional handset support the newest version of Skype gets a few enhancements. Now you can switch between landscape and portrait modes during video calls, and you can use the zooming function simply by double-tapping on the display of the handset. As for the commercial component, the newest version of Skype will introduce an advertising platform, which will not be shown only to those customers who have Skype Credit, Calling or Skype Premium Subscriptions.
The newest version of the application is already available. You can download it from the Android Market.
