T-Mobile myTouch 3G hits stores today

myTouch 3G, T-Mobile’s second Android-powered phone has been officially launched today. The device will be available for $199.99 and are available in three colours, black, merlot and white. This device comes without a hardware keyboard, and appears much slimmer than T-Mobile G1, the company’s first Android-powered device.

This device sports a 3.2″ QVGA screen, a 3.2 MP camera, 528 MHz Qualcomm processor, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, WiFi and GPS. Click here to know more about the device.

Verizon to launch Android-powered Motorola “Sholes” in US

Motorola Sholes has headed the Android way. According to reports, it is an Android-powered device, which will be available in the US in October this year.

It seems quite feature-rich :

  • 480 x 854 3.7-inch display
  • 512MB storage, 256MB RAM
  • microSD/microSDHC support up to 16GB (8GB ships with phone!)
  • 5-megapixel camera with autofocus
  • GPS
  • USB, Bluetooth 2.0 and WiFi

Possibly, the device will support both CDMA and EVDO Rev A. And, here’s a live shot of the phone :

iriver planning to give Apple a tough time : working on an iPod Touch like device running on Android

iriver is working on iriver K2, a Portable Media Player, which would probably sport a 3.5-inch touchscreen, WiFi, Bluetooth, an accelerometer and integrated digital TV tuner, and is believed to be a close competitor to Apple’s iPod Touch. It may also sport a web browser, and Android market (like App Store in iPod Touch) for third party softwares.

But, only time will tell, if it will really materialize. The reason being, this beautiful dish is far from any kind of approval as of now.

Vobis Computer to launch Android powered Highscreen PP5420 in Russia

Vobis Computer is reportedly planning to launch Android powered, HIGHSCREEN PP5420 in Russia starting next week. According to reports, it will retail at about approximately $510.

The device sports a 3″ WQVGA screen, Qualcomm MSM7201 processor, a 3MP camera with auto focus, a front-facing camera for video calling, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, WiFi, GPS and UMTS/HSDPA.

Google Android is getting really popular with cell-phone manufacturers around the world. The main reason is the availability of the open-source OS for free. Also, the current Android devices available in the market, like the HTC Dream, Magic and Hero have been quite popular with the masses. The PP4520 has got quite impressive features, for a mid-range mobile phone. So, let us hope this device too gets the same popularity as the other Android devices.

Another Android phone in the making : the General Mobile DSTL1. Also includes a video

General Mobile is planning to sell its DSTL1, powered by Android 1.5 aka cupcake, in the US and Turkey by the end of June. The DSTL1 is a dual-sim phone which also sports a 624MHz processor, a 5MP camera with flash(made by Sony), FM Radio, bluetooth 2.0 and WiFi. It also comes with a 4GB inbuilt memory. And, an extra battery and  a desktop charger is also said to be included in the box.

There is no confirmed news about its price but it is expected to sell for about US$550 to $750.

If this report is to be believed, then the DSTl1 would be the first non-HTC Android device in the market.
