Viber App for Android Available

| July 21, 2011 | 1 Comment

Finally! The Viber app is now available in the Android Market letting its users call and text to each other. This app’s beta version was in use since May, and after its iPhone version succeeded, the developers decided to release it for larger masses, namely for the users of Android. Now its official version is set for download.

With the help of Viber all users can make free calls and text each other without any limits, moreover, the call quality will be better than a regular call. If you are not familiar with this app yet, I’ll to introduce some interesting statistics. In 7 months the app got 20 million registered users from which 12 million are active users. This is a huge data so you should realize how long they will talk free totally —  1 billion minutes every quarter. Those 12 million active users talk on average 11 million minutes per day with an average call length of 6 minutes.

Look what The CEO of Viber says on this case:

“We have been looking forward to launching our Android app, especially after having received a staggering number of requests from Android users asking us to bring Viber to the Android market. Our latest user numbers are the best indicator of how much our users love to talk and send messages for free with Viber.”

Viber is very comfortable for use, as it features pop-up text message notifications that allow the users to respond without opening the app itself. The same thing you can see for calls and there is no difference where the dialer or the call receiver is.

Plus, you won’t find there any ads or in-app purchases, and you only have to be connected to the internet via 3G or WiFi. You understand you are free of any international charges.
